I am looking for a sound card for my home-built Windows Media Center PC. I'd like to connect it to my 5.1 receiver (Sony STR-DE875) and existing surround sound speakers. The receiver has optical/coaxial digital SPDIF inputs. Any advice on sound cards under $50?? Can I use a 7.1 sound card or should I use a 5.1?? Thank everyone.
I have a Blueado.com 500 Series and it has GREAT sound. I'm using the SPDIF coaxout and it doesn't seem to use a sound card. Have you thought about getting a motherboard instead of a sound card?
