Here is what's going on. When I turn on the center speaker within the receiver settings it turns the receiver off when it hits a deep base line. When am watching a DVD movie, you hear the surround system in the movie just fine, but you hear no voices at all from the center speaker unless you turn the speaker up in the receiver settings, but again when it hits a deep bass line it turns the receiver off. I have switched the speakers around, but that speaker keeps shutting the receiver off. My question is, is the speaker to weak to handle the receiver? Or is the receiver not putting out enough power for the speaker? I need to know if the speaker needs to be replaced or does the receiver need to be replaced? Can someone help? Thanks

Might be helpful if you specified equipment type.

I have a Kenwood VR-405. The system does not respond to the remote. The remote is working and has new batteries.
