I'm getting my HD channels through comcast basic. If I just hood up my tv to m receiver through optical connection, will I be able to get 5.1 sound or do i need a cable box?
Paul's advice is perfectly understandable. If the tv will pass a 5.1 signal after it receives it, the receiver should play the transfer as 5.1. What's so hard to understand about that or do you have a not so hidden agenda of Paul-bashing? Whose the real fool? No need to respond. The answer is readily apparent.
