My tv has one video plug (yellow) and 1 audio plug (white) in the front. My dvd player has 2 audio plugs (red and white). My question is how to I hook up both audio plugs to the tv? Do i need to get an Y adapter?

My second question is this: My dvd player has an option called "AV IN". Is this used to what televison shows through my DVD player?

Thanks for all the help.

It looks like you have an old 'mono' tv set. If you want to watch DVDs and listen in stereo, I suggest plugging your DVD player audio cables directly into the receiver and leave the TV out of the audio loop. If you do that, the only way you will be able to listen to DVDs is through your stereo, but it will sound a lot better.

If you want to listen to your TV source in stereo, you'll need audio/outs on your cable/sat box to be connected directly into your receiver leaving the TV out of the 'audio' loop.
