I am looking at 2 H/K receivers, one with DTS 96/24 (AVR 430) and one without it (AVR 525, from last year). If I have a DVD player with DTS 96/24, do I also need a receiver with this decoding in order to enjoy this feature. It is my understanding that for other types of decoding, you can use the DVD player decoder and just feed the 5.1 analog inputs to the receiver.
