Okay, how do i get a resolution of anything other than a stretched out 1024x768 on my HDTV? The laptop has only S-Video and VGA Sub. I went with VGA Sub. The laptop recognizes the HDTV as a 1024x768 max @85Mhz max res display device.

All the info I am seeing on Powerstrip is two plus years out of date and refers to things that may not apply now days with newer RPTVs and HD units. The laptop is a widescreen LCD unit capable of up to 1600 res so I should be able to work up with out need for a monitor beyond it's built in panel. The documentation for the HDTV indicates a 1280x720p type res as well as an obscene 1920 res is possible in dvi/digital mode.

Help?

The max resolution that s-video can output is 1024x768. And the VGA/dsub wouldn't be able to handle widescreen out. The best thing to do would be to grab something with a DVI out, and use that. It will give you HD and widescreen output.

Get ATI's CATALYST Control Center NOW.
http://www.ati.com/products/catalystcontrolcenter/
It has a very good HDTV customization support, it
solves my overscan problem by allowing me to setup
an 1100X680 resolution on my 1280X720 HDTV. It only works for ATI's cards though(Radeon series is).
