I just bought a DVD recorder. I have a Technics SAEX-800 Prologic receiver attached to Bose speakers. Do I need any kind of converter to go between the Dolby Digital recorder/player and the Prologic receiver to get good surround sound?
Just saw your post and thought I would respond. The good news: Dolby digital is backward compatible with prologic without any "converters".
Bad news: your not going to experience the bold new surround that dolby digital has to offer in 5.1 and up. yes you can connect and play, but the real magic of your DVD will be locked inside itself until you UP the receiver. Sorry.
