Im trying to set-up my videologic zxr-550 5.1 speakers to my xbox, but have been told that I need a decoder to to take advantage of dolby dts and dolby digital, im a n00b concerning audio, any help would be greatly appreciated.
From what I'd seen of the zxr550, it has six separate inputs for each audio channel. Don't know if xbox has any cables or adapters that can be used with your sound system's inputs, though. However, if you ever go with a system in which the receiver has a digital optical (toslink) input, or maybe even a digital coax input, it can be connected to your xbox for dolby digital or dts. There may be a menu on your xbox that lets you enable the audio output for digital (dts and digital); your xbox will decode the signal (on dvd's and some games) and send it to your audio system.
