What receiver is suitable for B&W DM603 S3?

I listened to these speaker today ($1000/pair) and liked it a lot as compared to Paradigm Studio 60 and Def Tech Mythos (both around $1500/pair).

The B&W speakers were driven by Rotel separates in the store. The store owner recommends Rotel RSX-1065, but that's very expensive (>$2000).

Do you have any other recommendations for these speakers in the <$1200 range?

I'm driving mine with a Marantz 7300ose. Very nice.

Another good choice would be NAD.

I couldn't find Marantz 7300ose on their web site. Has it been replaced with 7400? Currently I am considering these 3:

Rotel 1065 ~ $2000
NAD T763 ~ $1399
Pioneer Elite VSX-55TXi ~ $1499

How would 7300ose compare with these?

NAD c320bee is a good choice - only $280 refurb (https://dmc-electronics.com/Default.htm)

If you don't mind used, then look in www.audiogon.com - you can get quality for less.

Ebay is less trustworthy but can get good deals on old Marantz receiver 2270 - has a warm smooth sound.

You might want to get a Mcintosh amp like 2105 model - they are even nicer than marantz.

I took a guess & assumed you wanted a surround receiver. And seems like you do with the above 3 choices.

I like all 3 but if you're considering these, I personally would spend more on speakers, and if you prefer B&W, their 700 or 800 series. The 603, afterall, is only their entry level towers.

Yes Marantz has discontinued the 7300ose only after a few months. The x300 series have been replaced by x400. But you can still get info on their website in the recent products section. I heard you can pick one up for about $700 these days, which I think is very good for its price/performance value, not that it's better than Rotel or NAD, etc.
