I've recently got a couple of Gemini speakers (4ohm, 160W each) and a Gemini amp (xg2001 1000w, stereo 4-8ohm, mono bridged 8ohm min.)
The prob is the system is too weak for my needs,(not loud enough) what are my alternatives for safely beefing up the loudness??
Will bridging seriously up the loudness??
Can I buy more speakers and add them safely, and if so, what impedence and wattage??
Thanks,
Pat

PS. please excuse my ignorance and poor speaker selection

upping wattage will give you very little in sound level.

the thing that gives you spl is the eficency rating on the speakers.

the higher the eficency the louder the system will be.

if you buy more speakers and add them to the system
the impedance will drop to low for the amp.

the only way really is with different speakers
with a higher eficency.

somewhere near 100db eficency should be plenty loud.

whatever the ones are you have now see if you can
go up by at least 5db that should make a huge increase.

My budget won't allow buying another amp/speaker package but i may be able to borrow another 200w speaker for a special event I'm planning.
What are my options for getting higher spl with what I have??
Will bridging seriously up my spl??
I really need to boost my loudness for this outdoor party.

I'm sorry but

"Will bridging seriously up my spl??"

no.

hey didn't see this sorry!

"Update,

if the speakers are 8 ohm yes you could run another pair of 8ohm speakers "paralell" to bring
your load down to 4ohm and increase your spl.

should do the trick.

Does the wattage of the new speakers matter, considering the amp is 1000w??
What kind of watt range should I look at for the new speakers??
Thanks Again
