Posted on I'm torn between these two receivers and would really appreciate the receiver gurus to shed some light on which is one is better.
Some of the features that I like of both are the support for pretty much all formats out there, composite/S-video upconversion to compoent video.
I hear the Onkyo doesn't do Dolby Pro Logic II which is useful to keep around as we transition from regular television to HD.
I also hear that the Yamaha had some flickering problems when viewing certain channels via the video upconversion.
