Linking different sets of speakers

I have 3 completely different sets of speakers that i need to link up, can i just use a splitter and aux cables from my ipod or is it more complected. thanks

Yeah, more complicated.

First, an iPod alone can't power speakers unless the speakers have built in amplifiers.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and guess that the 3 pairs of speakers are in 3 different rooms.

With that, you will need a multi zone receiver, integrated amp or stand alone preamp. Okay, you don't necessarily need multi zone, but it's about the best way. Connect your iPod to an input on the multi zone amp and connect zones 2 & 3 to either receivers, integrated amps or power amps in the the other room. Each pair of speakers is powered by its own amp. The multi zone unit in the "main zone" should be where you have your iPod connected. Select "source" for zones 2 & 3 and all 3 zones will have the iPod as a source.
