I just connected my new Sony STR-DE597 and using an old splitter from the cable-in to the receiver's FM in I can't get any FM stations. Is it possible my cable company's signal no longer contains an FM signal. I know it has FM music stations but they are as channels.
I was doing it wrong. I switched to using the cheap FM ant wire they provide and read the instructions mo betta and sure enough, I found stations. Then, knowing how to search and find, I switched back to the splitter"s coax "in" from the cable and there were all sorts of FM stations, all nice and clear without any hums as with the cheap ant wire.
