Adcom GFP 555 II - good preamp?

So, is it a good preamp? I want to buy it used with a GFA-555. I want it to have a volume knob/dial/switch, and work... no special features.

If not, could you people show me a few cheapie preamps at audiogon.com with two preamp outs(one for amp, one for sub, that I could use simutaneously)? The cheaper the amp and preamp, the more I have for a sub. Age is no matter - as I see it, the older, the cheaper.

well if your looking at 2channel preamps.

i'm not familiar with the adcom but i'm using a
b&k pt3 series II it's fairly inexpensive and for
me works and sounds great.

it has preamp outputs for sub/high/full frequency
3 full sets of preamp outs.

i think i paid $250 for mine.

it also happens to have a remote.

Both Adcom and B&K offer good products at good prices.
