I just got a Marantz SR-7400 (replaced at Marantz's expense for SR-7200 with constant problems). I have a Definitive Technology ProSub 100TL subwoofer attached to the subwoofer output as specified in the Marantz manual. Sometimes when I'm adjusting the volume of the receiver I get a very loud thump from the subwoofer. This can happen even in the speaker volume adjustment menu and not even listening to any content! Has anyone had this problem and if yes, what did you do to fix it? It is very annoying and I even turned my sub off for now because I don't want to hit it with such bad transients.

To follow up on this... it happens only when adjusting between certain volume intervals. For example, change between -30db to -29db or from -29db to -30db and there is a big boom from the sub. Other adjustments above -30db are also affected. This doesn't feel right! Anybody else see a similar issue? --Jimi
