need some recomendations and advice here for Marantz SR5400 vs Yamaha RX-V450. I'm currently using a pair of wharfedale CR 40 Speakers. Will be using for music and movies. Price difference is about USD$75 locally between the two (Marantz is the more-ex one).
The Marantz is a hands down winner in sound quality, power and versatility. It has a lot more usefull connectors like more digital ins, digital outs, pre-outs and so on. The Yamaha is just a basic unit with nothing special apart the PLIIx wich is usefull only with a 6.1 speaker system. The Marantz is easily worth the price difference.
