Posted on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 - 19:32 GMT What's the latest & greatest way to convert 8mm analog files to digital format on a PC and then create DVDs. I've read that it's best to use a camcorder that will convert the analog to digital, then transfer to PC by firewire for best quality. Is it better to use a 8mm player or converter to transfer rather than a camcorder? I've read that firewire transfer gives better video conversion quality over USB transfer. What DVD editing software (features) & video card (memory, inputs, etc) should I be looking for? In Advance, Thank You, Harry |

Posted on Saturday, February 26, 2011 - 21:54 GMT 8mm FILM (gasp!) or 8mm tape can be converted by professional services. My Mac comes with I-movie which is great for such editing as you wish to do. You don't need 'industrial strength' for this task. I've experimented with CellPhone camera movie clips and its easy to learn. |
