Hi
Not entirely happy about my selection of system (lousy video signals) but now it has started to freeze where the only thing you can do is adjust the volume manually by the knob. Only way to get it up an running is a complete re-boot (disconnect power - does Microsoft has a part in this). I had a idea that it had something to do with digital in connected from a LG BluRay but now it freezes when this is even disconnetced

Any good ideas or is it to bring it in for repair?

.

You first need to isolate the problem to the receiver. Before you take it in for service strip the receiver down to bare minimum, only speakers and FM antenna remaining. Reset the receiver to "normal" and listen. If the receiver doesn't have problems with this set up, add a component and retest. Add one component each time the receiver passes the next test. If you have a point where you re-encounter your problem, then you need to decide where in that circuit of connections the problem might exist. It could be a bad cable or it could be a bad source.

Thre are multiple ways to connect a HT system. The route you've chosen might not be the best and another connection might serve the purpose without issues. If you had someone do the installation for you, talk to them. Where you made the NAD purchase should also provide service after that sale which might keep the receiver out of the service department.
