I have onkyo 528 speaker package connected to sony DH510 amp. Can anyone help? Previous owner to the house has additional speaker wires available for outside speakers. How do I connect them to the amp so that they can work independant of TV etc. At present if they are connected and are on TV/ Cable or DVD then they work.

BGB, your receiver is 5.1 and has no provision for a 2nd zone.
You may be able to run another set of speakers out there, and connect to the 'B' speakers to have 2 sets in stereo.

Be sure of the wire quality which you cannot see. The wire may run into a cold attic, or be wrapped around a pipe for all we know.

If you want multi-zone capability, go shopping. However, have a good solid look at your present AND futture needs, to find the right unit at a price that you are comfortable with.
