New member Username: PimokyoTurkey Post Number: 1 Registered: Apr-10 | I'm planning to buy NAD c352 soon for a setup which is limited to classical music only and my room is pretty small. So I'm thinking to buy bookshelve speakers. But I'm not sure which speaker to buy. I've heard yamahas are good for classical music. And as you can guess my budget is pretty small. But I can spent a little more, I think. I want to hear all the sounds when listening to music. Do you think this setup will do any good? |

I find them bright and difficult to work with, but I was in a sound booth. Room treatment and attention are a must! But...if you value accuity, immediacy of strings and a very coherrant treble, then the Yammy NS is worth a look. |

The NAD has a bass bloom, rolled off highs, and does not work at all to the speakers advantage. It does work very well with other speakers, IMO. |

I'm probably not the best source of information since I quickly tire of most most things. Nuck is bang on with the description of NAD, plus add "grainy". |

My wife's NAD amp performs very well in her system. I certainly don't hear the rolled off highs. That said, most folks move on from NAD in short order if they are serious about sound. If it's for a small room I'd probably skip the NAD and the Yamaha's and look at something like a used Jolida tube integrated and the Tekton single driver speakers. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?intatube&1277075106&/Jolida-JD-102B-Amp http://www.tektondesign.com/model45.htm http://www.tektondesign.com/model65.htm |

Only reason I'm considering nad is, its easily available for me and I'm thinking to buy second hand which is around 400 bucks. I was only hearing good things about nad but some people are not very happy with that amp for some reason. The worst thing is, I have no means to try it out before buying and I'm a complete newbie. Thank you mitchell and nuck, for your responses. As for Art, I think your recommendation is very interesting. However I dont know anything about tubes at all, I was thinking that tubes were very expensive, at least 5000 bucks. Sorry for my inexperience. I cant find those brands in my country but I'm looking into it. I'm afraid shipping is gonna cost me. But its ok, I can find a way if I know I want it. Is your setup good for classical music? How about using nad with tektons? Vince, pair of bostons seem cheap to me, however paradigm studio's look very nice. I'm wondering if its gonna be balanced if I used with nad? I'm doing some digging right now. You are all pointing me to somewhere(which is nice), hoping that place is not an "Audiophile Pimokyo" Thank you |
