Does anyone have any experience with bi amping?

My receiver (Arcam AVR 300) will allow me to redirect my 6th and 7th channels (rear surrounds) to biamp the main speakers. I believe that the beneifits of bi amping will outweigh the additional surround ambiance provided by the 6th channel (my room is wired for 6.1).

It depends on your speakers. The benefits of biamping are not that great, try both and see wich you like the most.

michael the effects of biamping are greatly improved
when their is no xover in the speakers and you use
seperate amps for each driver with an active xover.

so i would agree with landroval try it and see.

i have the h/k 525 which is a 7.1 reciever and am
using all 7 channels and find the benefit of the
extra channels very rewarding.

by the way i have been looking very closely at
that reciever you have.

if you could give a detailed oppinion on it's quality
and features, that would be much apprecieated.

many on this board are wondering about that system.

their has been a thread started talking about that
unit.

i had gone to audition it but didn't have much time to
evaluate but posted my 2 cents on what i had found.

if you really feel ambitious you could revive that
thread.

if not it really isn't necasary.
