Yeah man. Its not that expensive either. Considering what they are doing to it. The replaced a lot of key stuff in my amp. Best thing I have ever done in this hobby so far IMO.

Nice arrangement for your HT Nick. It is evident that you appreciate your home and have taken effort to make it your own.

Now about those Bryston before and after pics, I suspect it will look like an ad for X90P before and afters.

lol Stu- you might wish you had the space, but I wish I had your dedicated room for the two channel system. I think I might have my wife talked into some butchers blocks though. If I put a nice finish to them. Hey its a start.lol. Still no dedicated room though. Its going to take a bigger house yet for that I think. Sucks.

Stryvn,

When did you get the 6200? I missed that one too.

Also, I know the real reason why you left the lights off...

Thanks Dan. The best gear in my two channel system though are definitely the Bryston stuff. They both have the old Bryston look on the outside but a newer inside, which is beautiful and they sound even better. They definitely IMO outclass my Apollo. My next source will be a DAC however.

Stryvn picked up that I/A instead of the MX112 tuner/pre that I bought up.

Yes....you remember the wire mess huh, Stu? lol.

S'ok. The recent gear purchases have me looking for a flat screen for the wife. Then I have to get to work on a new gear rack to get rid of the ugly one that's there now. And I mean UGLY.

The 6100 is an I/A that I am using as a pre. I run the Paradigm's offa the 4 ohm taps on the back of the 7300 and feed em about 30-40w and we're in business here. It's a bit less colored (to say the least) than the Rotel pre. And looks cooler.

I wonder how Macs would sell if they just had a blank facade and a little standby/on light?

Not knocking their musical prowess - just a thought.

I've wondered that too M.R. Mac have some amps without the funky meters, which oddly enough interest me not in the least. I guess there's your answer.

Then again, Bryston has it's legions of loyal followers (present company included), and they're as plain as it can get.

Yes they will. In fact they will probably come on up and we'll enjoy each others company and do some auditioning before they leave me with it for some alone time. They don't rush me either...they understand that that is not a good way to audition, under the gun of a time limit.

Art, I never got a delivery failure notice or anything to suggest otherwise, but hey, it doesn't really matter the cable has been relegated to the ht set-up and the Chord seems great for 2 channel. Very little difference, but just a tad more top end detail - and I mean a tad. Thanks anyway Art, maybe it went into their spam bin.

Just for the heck of it, here is a pic of the Saturn and the latest acquisition, the Oppo BDP-83, a universal Blu-ray player. Out with the Pioneer BDP and Marantz DV-9500.

The timber boards are on brass cones with rubber cushioning, the Saturn has 1/2 inch bearings set in blu-tac in the player's feet. I was going to give a little review of the Saturn, but what is left to add?

In comparison to the SE edition, it's not much in front, probably doesn't warrant the extra $'s but it does dig a little deeper, a bit more inner detail, a little more dynamic with it's higher bandwidth and like it's siblings, bl00dy musical. It doesn't forgive poor recordings, but takes you to heights with the good ones.

Unless the led's from the player are distracting from the candlelight and Barry White, why turn off? My Apollo has the slightest noise with the display on, and I mean the nit-pickiest noise.

I don't get noise per say M.R it just isn't as clean and it has nothing to do with power it's the display. It's minor but I can live without the display to get the best from the Apollo.

I keep turning of the lights because I am a lemming not a wallaby. I do not here the difference either, but if I do not need to see the track the red glow is annoying. Keeping in mind that I am a blue lights type.

M.R. not so flea like when you have a 1Tb outboard drive parked next to it.

You run all your media to the outboard 1Tb drive and use the Music Streamer from it to your kit.

If it sounds as good as it looks, you must be happy Art. Is there much difference with the tweeters on the inside? At the distance between the speakers I would have have thought it might be better, though I guess it depends on the dispersion - and your ears of course.

Haven't tried it with the tweeters on the inside. At this point I'm running them the way John DeVore designed 'em. He designed them to have the tweeters on the outside and the speakers toed in to point directly at the listener. Sounds fantastic...never know though, I have thought about trying it the other way. It took quite awhile to find the right placement though so I'm a bit hesitant to move them at this point.

Here's a new one of the HT. My wife and I ripped up the carpet last week and had some new flooring installed. It's totally changed the dynamics and sonics of the room - in a good way. The room is more lively, treble is more pronounced (dialog is clearer), and bass is tighter. Plus the floor looks great! Very happy...

haha. Good eye George.

Yes, it's a phone. My wife put it there. In all fairness, we just put the room back together after the new flooring was installed. I've elucidated at length to my wife about the the sacrilege of putting photos, knick-nacks, doileys, etc, etc, on top of speakers. And she gets that, God love her.

Thanks Art, Ed, Dave. Yes, interesting enough, I've done an A/B comparison of the Epos to my father's Energy Pro22 Reference monitors, which are from the mid-eightees, and though the Epos seems to hold quite well, the Energy's have got an even more natural and relaxed upper midrange.

I'm going to set the Bryston, Kenwood, TT and Epos up in a bedroom and do some more listening. So far I'm enjoying them.

Just 'window shopping' and having a look at all these beautiful working systems. not a 'wall hanger' in the bunch.

And, some shots show the ONE thing I miss most with my panels. The beautiful wood and wood finish that comes with most audiophile speakers. The quality shows.

I had my eye on one of those Kenwoods, too.

Love the Mac look, too.
