Hello, I want to thank Nuck and anybody else who previously gave me tips to make my Cerwin Vega's sound better. I fixed it with better speaker placement and an EQ.

I am ordering a new sub for my house, or say, my room. The sub is 12" 2,500 watts rms/4000 peak. I got the enclosure sorted out and my cables. The only concern is the amp to push it. Since it's in a house, a car amp is out of the question. Here are my concerns:

-Can any amp be used for a sub or does it have to be a sub amp?
-Before I go pro amp (Crown, QSC etc), is there any home amp of 2,500rms? I can't find any.
-Does the class matter?
-Will an EQ have to be used inbetween or is the X-over good enough?

Julien, your sub will need EQ, and that is usually considered to include active XO in a car sub like this.
So you are looking at Behringer, which is a pretty good choice.

No prob Nuck. Since you say behringer, I assume you mean both the amp and EQ of that brand.

Once the active EQ is in the mix, the amp(s) becomes less important, IMO.
