Vintage Speakers

My dad has a set of Fisher XP-10 Heritage Series speakers built in 1966. We recently replaced the 15" subwoofers in each cabinet. One of the crossovers in one cabinet does not work and we cannot get a signal at all out of any of the speakers in that cabinet. The other cabinet and its speakers works fine. Wondering where I could get a crossover part for the one cabinet? The crossover components are all mounted on a piece of what looks to be 3/8 plywood that is about 8" x 8". Does anyone have any ideas?

.

Do you know the values of the crossover components? Can you read the resistor color codes and the markings on the capacitors? If so, you can buy replacements at any electronics supply store that still sells small items to the public. If there's no such store in your area, call either Parts Express or Madisound. You can find either with a search engine. The coils in the crossovers should not have gone bad over time.

Should you not be able to read the component values both companies sell generic crossovers. The values probably won't be correct for the speakers but they are easy to clip in place and the speakers should then make sound if there are no other problems.

As a solution is found, replace both crossovers.
Speakers should 'match' to the extent that is possible.

Do you have a meter to check the drivers in the non-working speaker?
