Welcome agian friends, to the 5th trivia show for Ecoustics.

This years event will feature prizes, and possibly links to leggy showgirls, but nothing for you again, but for a charity of your choice.

For anyone unfamililiar with the format, please use the search function.

This years event is going to ask for some involvement.
I would ask you all to send me quality questions to be asked this year, and with a musical context.
I will use 5 of the questions, each one worth 50$ to your charity of choice.
I can google as well, but I would like some sort of question that has a musical purpose to you each.

If you would like to include a quip, quote or link to a musical review, feel free. I will steal it all to post here, no names, just fun.
Christmas stories especially welcomed.

So please send your queries (and answers!) to me, so I can line up this year's charity game.

I'd suggest a few questions Nuck, but I'm afraid that my musical tastes run a little too far of left field for most members here to be familiar with.

Welcome everyone.
I would like to thank my friends for helping me when I needed it, and for kicking my rear when I needed that too.
It has been a vey good year here in Nuckland, as things normalize into somesort of cohesive operation, and my hifi is juuust about ready to show.
In appreciation of my success, I pull a 'hat's off' to my friends and perhaps the Great Pumpkin, who knows?
Having been able to satisy my usual charities, here is a chance for you all to get a little help to YOUR charities.

Each correct answer will be rewarded 50$ to the charity of your choice. As much as possible, I will post or send confirmation of the donation, barring CC#'s.
The charity of your choice can be posted, or emailed to me to fulfill.

So, with that said, here we go...

Seeing how you're deadly serious about this, I'll take a crack at it. According to my research into this subject, in 1968 Canned Heat teamed up with the 'munks to record a Christmas song.

And another one to ponder...

This song was originally a poem written by singer/songwriter Lori Lieberman, and became a big hit for Roberta Flack. Name the song.

Lori was motivated to write the poem after seeing a concert by whom?

Nuck- Going to take a stab at the last question there. I am probably wrong, but here it goes:

Was it - "Killing Me Softly With His Song" which was written by Lori Lieberman and was a huge hit for Roberta Flack in 1973?

Another Q while we wait on the Stones/.Johnson.

This is an American-linked music question for the historians out there.

What musical instrument, invented by an American founding father, was featured in a Sandra Bullock
movie? For 'Extra Credit', name the American and the film!

You have the receipt, CM.

Nobody going to google the Stones/Johnson?

Well we will let that one ride and heres the next one.

JV should know the metalhead answers.

Who played bass on the SexPistols "Never Mind the Bollocks" album?

This is a tricky one, with the usual SexPistols drama inluded, so research carefully, as the correct answer may be a bit convoluted.

Good luck!

OK, assuming I'm not ineligible,

On "Never Mind the Bollocks-Here's the Sex Pistols", bass duties were performed by Steve Jones, with the exception of "An@rchy in the U.K." where Glen Matlock played bass. Although Sid Vicious was rumored to have played in the mix on "Bodies", he is not credited with being on the album.

I guess I am just slow on the uptake.

It is a no brainer that Torres is the Bon Jovi drummer but the 50's Bandleader is a different Tito and there is no reference to Torres playing with anyone other than Phantom's Opera whom he is no longer listed as a current member of.

I suppose you need to be related to him to be able to figure this one out.

.

This is my busy time of year so I can give this one shot. According to DrummerWorld Tico Torres plays on occasion with Chuck Berry; "His studio and live experience with Frankie and the Knockouts, Pat Benatar, Chuck Berry, Cher, Alice Cooper, and Stevie Nicks helped to establish him as a first call player." http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Tico_Torres.html

Too many needy organizations to choose from in this economy. Normally I would choose an animal related group but this year the dollars just aren't coming in fast enough for the North Texas Food Bank; http://www.ntfb.org/

People of all ages are going hungry, send them my share. And thank you for doing so, Nuck.
