I have a Velodyne 10" SPL 1000 R (sealed 1000W RMS sub), looking for a tower speaker to match it any recommendation is appreciated-powering amp is ADCOM 545 II 100W/channel.

Saw a tower with integrated powered subs Definitive technology Mythos STS, they say its 300W/speaker subs can go as low as 16Hz and is equivalent of 2 x 10 in subs.

Should I give away the Velodyne and get the integrated tower or keep the velodyne and buy an unpowered tower ?

Your opinions/comments are appreciated.

Not often we get someone trying to match speakers to a sub, usually it's the other way around.

The DefTech Mythos speakers get some pretty good reviews.

Music or HT?

David.

Mainly music ~70%.

Reason for looking at floor standing speaker is I sold my old Definitive Technology BP10 speakers used to work great with Velodyne sub, now I am looking at what is best solution for high quality musical sound.

I can always sell the Velodyne and get Mythos STS, not sure how they will sound for music compared to their competitor brands.

Any comments is appreciated.

If you buy the Mythos STS I'd be very interested to hear what you think of them!

What's the rest of the system like? Source?
