I have a pair of ADS L810's that I have had since 1978 and they sound wonderful to me. I am driving them with an Onkyo TX 8155.

What I need to know is where these speakers would fit into a surround system (Front or (rear-which is preferable because of my room)). After that, is it REALLY necessary to have a sub or is the base from these all that is needed. I will probably get the Onkyo 507 receiver for the A/V.

Then I need some opinions about front and center speakers .

Thanks for any help!

.

Go out and listen to some contemporary speakers to find out just how much speakers have changed in the last 30 years. Ideally, you want all three speakers across the front to be similar and it's unlikely you'll find a good match to the ADS in today's speakers. If you believe you can't buy a better speaker than the ADS, use them as your main front speakers and match the rest of the system as close to their sound as possible.

If your material is largely action oriented movies, you'll want a seperate subwoofer or risk damaging the ADS.
