Thanks Chris the SLS Encores are a lot of fun, things get really serious once the chambes are loaded up with about 15 pounds of kittylitter or leadshot per side, their gonna make a nice theater and good 2 channel listening in my theater room.

Very nice TW. Sexy looking speakers. Hey, question for you. How do those mono block amps sound? I see they are 199.99. Are they class D?

Yeah,i love them,I like them better than the Class A section in the Purer 3.8,especially the bass and soundstaging, they actually should be $149 a block thats what i got them for.

It appears that they went back up to 299.99. Still a good deal?

Trust me Nick, just call and ask about them they have about 40 of them left, their 149 a block, the new 1's should be out around late August, that will be over 200 watts a channel and hopefully balanced outputs will be $299 a block atleats when they 1st hit.But for these blocks a solid musical 150 watts and a $149 a block is a steal.

Wish I would have known that before I bought two outlaw mono blocks.

Those Outlaws are OK, I used one for a center channel amp once but I'm not sure I'd use them for music. Let us know how it goes with them...on another thread ofcourse so as not to hijack TW's.

Hey T, are you going to get the skiing ninja upgrades on the encores? I don't think there are upgrades for the x-statics right?

Yep ID im gonna get them and Sean only lives about a hour and a half away from me,yeah i rather like the SLS Enocres with upgrades it be fun hearing them get near Devore Gibbon 8,or Pro Ac Response 2.5 levels, for the low.He is just finshing up the uprgrades for the X-Static,but what more can he do? they already have Sonic bypass caps ,erse resisters and other crossover goodies that have no buisness in a speaker that even costs $3k to
$5k,the only thing i may add is No Rez,but even that the performance is already thru the roof,i dont think it will be worth the money unless you wanna different sound.

I like the Outlaw blocs for theater they have plenty power and drive, but i agree with Art,kinda unrefined for music, all Outlaws stuff has I have always felt was to the bright side to me,except for that very nice 2 channel receiver they have, thats a nice piece.

T, do you own the MFW-15? If so what do you think of it, it looks good. I own an HSU but the MWF looks interesting (especially in moho diamond!)

When did you order them?

Like Art, I owned an Outlaw mono, used for a center channel, and was quite happy with it. For HT, I wouldn't mind a stack of them. For music, it would be a step backwards for me. Way backwards.

A few days ago. Will the mono blocks TW got be good for my nht classic fours? I decided to do this because I wanted to do it right and give these speakers the best chance to shine like they were made to.

Wow! Thought you guys might want to read a veeeeeery interesting (and veeeeeeeeery long) thread I stumbled upon at Audioholics. It's not hard to find, it's on the first page. I guess you could say "buyer beware" when it comes to AV123. Sounds like discussion about this has been going around for a while. Funny I'd never read anything till now. Anyways, I've only read page 1. I don't know how this turns out (or if it even has turned out, yet).

AV123 went through some growing pains, it's a very long story.

I haven't worked my way through the entire thread yet, but as of page 39 "growing pains" is a euphemism if I've ever heard one. The company has been around since 2000, this stuff happened in late 2008 and early 2009, if not still happening today.

I perused the thread myself, Dan. Growing pains indeed. There's a few internet-direct audio companies out there that just quite can't seem to get their sh!t together.

"Growing pains" may compete with MLS' use of the term "underfunded" for the more than $30K of raffle money he collected and never paid out.

If that's true, then that would be truly despicable.

Can you point me to where this is being discussed?

"Can you point me to where this is being discussed?"

There is a nearly 200 page thread on it at audioholics.

Someone compiled all the raffles going back to 2004 and over $200K was collected. Those investigating aren't finding much in the way of matching records at the charities. They just found out MLS' granddaughter's ballet company has no matching records of donations for the AV123 raffles held for them since 2004.
