On the back of the sub it has input and output for speakers wires. Do i connect my bose 201's to the sub and then the sub to my sony reciever? Or do I connect the speakes directly to the reciever and then the sub independently to the receiver? There are inputs and ouputs on back.

Sorry we missed your post, billi.
The speaker output from the receiver goes into the sub at the speaker input marked high level in or such.
The speaker out goes to the Bose speakers.
The frequency knob will adjust the cutoff point to the Bose speakers and the sub will be crossed accordingly, as closely as the sub amp can.
You may end up very high in the crossover frequency for those speakers, but the sub should be able to cross that high without a void in the response.
If there is a void, or a suckout in the sound, then placement of the speakers has to be adressed.

They way i have it hooked up now is like this
front speaker output on receiver is going to inputs of sub.
From sub outputs i have them going to speakers.
Plus there is a dedicated like for sub alone to receiver.

Is this ok?
