Of this group, I've only listens to the Paradigm Mini Monitor, which I think are one of the work speakers Paradigm has released in recent memory.

The Mini is awful and the Aperion though not awful ain't anything to write home about. The Axioms, if at all good, didn't have to go very far to win this. I wonder why they disn't use the Aperion model one up from the one that they used...only $30 more with more bass extension...hmm.

A few years ago I was so intent on getting a pair of Axioms. But I always found it odd that there was the same one or two web sites that continually reviewed them. That and comments about how extremely bright they were scared me off. It would be easy enough to do the in home trial though.

I do like the look of that Aperion.

The Aperions are very very nice,i had a pair of 4T's for the trial period,in a smaller room than i had i think they would have been tramendous. They really reminded me of the Arro's but they played louder, outstanding build, for $650 their a steal they sure sound and are built a lot better than that $650 pricetag, very good bass to and dynamic with a huge soundstage smooth extended topend nice midrange.I may try them in my new room outstanding speaker, didnt have the Bada gear at the time either, best customer service in the world, the 6T just got a oustanding review in Stereophile, very very highly recomended.

Axiom offered the best tours, they have a lot of stuff, or at least did 5 yrs ago, I never went.

Lost the video link, I remembert the reporter/reviewer was put up in the owners Chalet and got hammered, it was pretty good, really.

In that pricerange the 9.1 would crush those speakers at around what those speaker cost at $359 a pair from STO the Evo2 8's would obliterate them very very badly. They need to review better speakers thats a horrible effort from their staff, the Aperion 5B are the only 1's i would wanna hear, most people should its a large difference between the 533' s and 5B,the new 1's are much much better.

A bit dated & low-brow, but definitely a better field.

Never heard the Axioms, but I've heard them described as relentlessly bright in almost every reviews. I definitely wouldn't enjoy that.

If those YAmmies are decent enough and can street for about 1/3 the Audioholics price they may make for a great inexpensive HT with a Hsu sub. Kind of like the Infinity Primus and perhaps better...just a thought.

I've always liked Yamaha receivers, they're pretty nice all around performers, but haven't given either their or any other mass-marketed speakers a good listen in years.

I'm sure it's decent enough for the masses, and yes, perhaps better.

It would be nifty if they were halfway decent...
