My friend said that these are very good speakers.
http://www.amazon.com/SpongeBob-Squarepants-MP3-Speaker-System/dp/B000KIHPVE

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

I don't want to make a huge investment and be disappointed in the end.

Thank You

Mike, just ignore these clowns and take the plunge. I'm sure they're great speakers. Go for it and do let us know.

.

I'd have to disagree with Sem. Hold off, these speakers are being blown out because the improved mkII version is being introduced at $52. Not a huge difference in price but, oh, the sound ...

What more can I say?

I guess they're great speakers if you're the kind of guy who drives around in a van with no windows and tells kids he's got candy or puppies inside.

I think I will take Jan's advice and wait for the new and improved version considering how much better it will sound.

I had to click on the link, I couldn't resist.

My son would love them. 45 bucks is pretty big investment to lay out right now, though.

David,

Your son is in luck. I did the extra work that nobody here wanted to do...I scrolled down and read the reviews for these beauties. The reviewer was lucky enough to pick up a pair of those bad boys at K-Mart for under $20. I don't know what the mkll's are gonna go for at the blue light special, but it's at least worth checking out.

LOL. Thanks Stryvn. I'm still trying to get him over his Sony boombox. If I have my way, he'll be the only kid on the block with separates.

With Spongebob speakers.

Mike,
Not hardly.
Bose has a long standing in the audio community. Bose like all speakers are what they are. As far as computer speakers, you would hard pressed to find better speakers for anywhere the money.
Speakers are some of the few Items that can be found on EBAY at a deal.
I have been consumer electronics for mor than 35 years. my primary system consists of Luxman Amps ( long ago ) and Martin Logan speakers. All of my Kids rooms have surround sound systems. Usually Bose AM5's and a set of 301 for rears. I also use Bose center chanel speakers for center and rear center for thier 6.1.
That being said, I like this site to here what evey one else likes and uses.
Most of these people are pretty good and I would be glad to go toe to toe with any of them.
Two things to remember:
1- We do not always get to make the final decision
2- Buget always enter the Picture,
Good Luck
