I just bought Orb Mod 2's (I think they are awesome sounding) I also purchased a Yamaha RXV-663 receiver which helps things a bit I'm sure...I would like an opinion on my Subwoofer choice. I have an old Velodyne F-1200 100 watt subwoofer, still sounds ok but distorts at higher volumes. It's not in the budget at the moment but I was considering the Orb Uber 10 to match what I have and also it offers 300 watts. I'm not anywhere near an expert on this so I am looking for opinions. and appreciate your input.

I don't really think it's necessary for a subwoofer to match the front speakers.

What about one of these?

Actually Sean, the Outlaw subs are actually rebranded Hsu's.

Hsu builds (or built) for Outlaw, unsure if they are the same unit...looks like not.
The LM1 and LM2 were designded by Dr. Hsu, but unsure of the build.

Doing some more research Nuck, seems you're right.

The LFM-1 and 2 are now discontinued, but even the similarities between the current Outlaw and Hsu subs are remarkable.

Some of the same drivers and amps, with a different look, perhaps.

I think that was a buddy deal with Hsu and Outlaw.
Nice subs, with the STF2 being the same in parts to the LMF2

It did... about 6 months ago. Just stopped working, so I threw it in the basement. I decided to plug it in one day and it worked just fine. Came back to life I suppose.

Speaking of Outlaw subs, they have a new one coming out:

Not looking like a Hsu at all, and 1000 watts. Sweet... What do you think Andre?

If that sub is as tight as it really should be, it might be pretty nice. 8" piston could move very fast.

Looks like it would be good for music.
