Can anyone tell me about these speakers....my friend bought them for $300.00 and she doesn't know anything about them...she has a Technics receiver and surround already, but we tried to hook them up last night and it just didn't work

Oh no, not again. Look around this board for the write up on these things...same goes for Dogg Digital, Dhalton. To say that these are low quality speakers would be an insult to low quality speakers! If you can catch up with the guys in the van or SUV that sold you these $300.00 paperweights, try to get your money back. Did they show you the magazine ads, stating their worth, about $1200.00??? They also have fake websites.
