I am trying to hook up two car subs i have into my home theatre system to get more bass!! I have it all hooked up but my insignia amp turns off if i turn the subs up too high! Im sure it has something to do with inpedence, but how do i fix it?
1. look into home gear. 2. you're killing the Insignia 3. Plate amp is in order. 4. Car stuff belongs in cars. 5. MAYBE wire voicecoils of woofers in series, not parallel. depending on enclosure, they may need to be in or out of phase.
6. Replace Insignia receiver after it shuts down just one more time. No receivers, or amps, are made for 1 ohm loads, and very few are happy with 2 ohm loads. 7. Buy a Classe power amp. They do 2 and lower ohms.
