I am having problems connecting my toshiba sd 2900 dvd player to my tv I am using the cables that came from the box they are labeled yellow for video, white and red for audio. I hooked them up as the directions told me but all I get is a regular signal from tv nothing else. I am hooking this up to a sony tv that is plugged into an old vcr. the model sony tv is kv 27s46. I bought this unit today from best buy. Am I doing something wrong, I am totally new to dvd players, please help. No matter what channel I select only the tv station channel comes up. What is wrong.

I'm guessing your Sony TV has video inputs? Connect the yellow cable to the video input and the red and white to the audio left/right inputs. Then change the TV to video 1 and you should see your DVD.

There should be a button on your Sony remote that says TV/Video.

How is the VCR connected to the TV?
