Hi, I have a 18 x 14 ft room. Will the NAD T742 have sufficient drive for this area. The 50w x 5 seems a bit low. I've been considering the Elite 43 as well. Im using a pair of custom built speakers right now- 100W x 2. Probably will upgrade these too soon.

Power ratings are not created equally. Look at the ratings on some of the high current HC's. Lot's of true power without the big numbers.

With efficient speakers 90-93db you only use 2-5 watts at normal listening levels. NAD's 50 watts is more than enough IF you have efficient speakers.
