KEF speaker modifications

Hi All,

I have 20+ year old speakers with B139/B110/T27 in (I think) huge infinite baffle cabinets (I made them so long ago I can't remember). They still go quite well, and I had them up against B&W 604's the other day. The B&W's midrange was a little better, as was the overall richness (for $AUD 3000???!!!) but I do like the KEF bass (did a comparo with Mercedes Sosa "Misa Criolla", track 1 - check the bass drum out!), so much so that I want to upgrade and modify them I am running a new NAD C370 amp (nice bit of kit too) which seems to be well matched to the speakers.

So the question is - are there any KEF kits and cabinet designs still available? I would like to improve the midrange, maybe add a mid range driver to compliment the B110 and T27.

Failing all that, I am going to refurbish the crossovers, but I have no idea where to start as far as the electronics are concerned. I have hard wired all the internals with the most expensive wire I could afford (that made quite a difference)

Any suggestions?

cheers

John
