hey everyone!

seeing as i'm rather new to the whole separate subwoofer market i need some help here...

i've got a sansui sw-82 powered subwoofer which i had connected to the outputs of my 5.1 amplifier which was connected to my pc. untill it blew :-(

what i would like to know is there any way to connect the stereo out of my pc to the input of the subwoofer, 1) to be split into bass/treble, 2) both channels amplified,3) then out put to the subwoofer and 2 stereo speakers attatched.

the back of the subwoofer is like so:
2 rca ports for "input"
2 rca ports for "direct output"
2x connectors for "from amp"
2x connectors for "to speakers"

what i wanted to try was
1) connect pc card to "input"
2) bridge cables from "direct output" to "from amp"
3) connect speakers to "to speakers"

thus the signal is amplified by the built-in amplifier, split into bass/treble, output.

this is the rear configuration
input to "input" results in the built-in amplifier doing something useful
input into "from amp" doesn't but allows output to other speakers...

curse this damn resolution limit!
