HELP how to connect PA speakers to stereo amp?

I just bought an old pair of Cerwin Vega V-15B speakers that have 2 inputs labeled "parallel inputs" on each of the speakers. I'm guessing that they are intended for 1/4" plugs . My (old) stereo amplifier accepts bare speaker wire via twisting posts.

My first question is why are there 2 inputs (they do not say + or -, both are just labeled "parallel inputs") on each speaker?

My second question is what cable do I use to connect the speakers to my amp? Can I just use a 1/4" to 1/4" speaker cable and splice off one end, exposing the bare wires to connect to the amp? Then then again, there are 2 inputs on the speaker , so which hole should I plug the 1/4" end into?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated... I've been researching all day and came up with nothing.
