I recently purchased a Bose acoustimass 10 system and I am shopping for a receiver. I have done a lil bit of research and I kinda zeroed on the following 3 receivers -

Sony 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver (STR-DG910)

Onkyo 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver - Black (TX-SR 605)

Receiver - Black (TX-SR 605) Denon 7.1-Channel HDMI Receiver (AVR887)

I am not sure which one should I be going with, I would really appreciate if you guys can help me in deciding. I am not sure if there are other receivers that I should be looking at in the 600$ range which can be better than the ones above.

Appreciate your help.

Yep Sony and Bose together. It's the perfect combination.

I would look for something on the smoother side, like Pioneer.

Pair the Bose with Sony or Onkyo, and it will drill your ears out.

For a smoother presentation look at Yamaha. My dad uses an older (4 years old or so?) Yamaha receiver with Bose Acoustimass 10 and gets pretty good results. We had to put a sock in the sub port to control it since the sub isn't powered but otherwise it's a nice sound.

Note to Bose haters: well, it was a lot better than by dad's nearly dead Aiwa from the 70s...

Regards,
Frank.

So it's been established that the Bose Acoustimass 10 is better than a dead Aiwa from the 70's.

Improvements in equipment and marketing go hand in hand.
Jes' sometimes one runs over the other.
