First post - be gentle with me.

I have a friend who wants to connect his laptop to a Bose Lifestyle 5 Music Center - is this possible?

Thanks in advance.

it should be with one of these....

http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=7122394&Redir=1&description=Mo nster%20Cable-iCable%20for%20iPod%20-%207%20ft.%20Cable%201/8%20Stereo%20mini%20 Plug%20to%20RCAs-MP3%20Players%20&%20Accessories

it says it is for an iPod, but what he is doing is conecting the miniplug where he would plug a headset in, and then plugging the stereo cables into the back of his lifestyle system.

This will give him stereo sound out of his lifestyle system. And, if he has and iPod, he can use it for that as well. Tell him to connect it to his system where it has an auxiliary jack, marked "aux" or "aux in".

this will work, and he will be able to hear his computer through the system.

This cable, called the Monster iCable, is also available at BestBuy, but the price will be higher. I am not sure if that website charges shipping, but that may negate the higher price. And, you can go to your local BestBuy (or your friend) and pick it up immediately.
