recently set up my ipod so i can use it with my two channel stereo,PSB image B25 speakers thru cambridge AZUR 540A.i notice when the ipod is used the woofer seems to "move",when i use my CDP or TT this does not happen.the amp allows for a direct setting so bass/treble are flat and to my understanding "not in use" except as the amp sees fit.
my question is will the ipod use and woofer movement stress or blow the speaker?is there a way
to avoid this happening?(besides not using the ipod).and if so how?
HAHAHA(that is for nuck in advance)

mwf, need more info. Receiver, interfaces, etc. This is easily solved, but fill out all forms in triplicate, please.

Press the keys hard, you are making 19,367 copies.

I'm out on a limb here, but I've noticed everything seems to work a little harder when playing back MP3s at volume compared to CDs and other sources. Must be the nature of the compression used on MP3 files.

Also more "static" in compressed audio files generally, which is probably why your woofers are moving. They're just playing the low freq. static in the source. Nothing to worry about.

I use FLAC when transferring music now, much better codec than MP3 and AP3 or whatever iPod uses.

You may also want to try Apple Lossless if this is the root of the problem.

could point stu,it seems that the cd's i ripped in lossless don't tax the woofers, but the files i downoloaded from itunes due,so it may be a matter of compression.
are in fact the woofers being taxed?will i cause any damage to the speaker?
thanks stu.

Yes, mwf, you will cause damage. If it sounds wrong, it is!
