One 15 or two 12

im in the market for getting a car stereo and i am at a dilemma. do I purchase two kicker comp vr 12 inch subs or one 15 inch kicker L5. im trying to figure out witch one will be ultimately better. having one or two. also what are pros and cons. they will be running on a Kenwood KAC-7203 500 watt rms * 1 channel.

Post in the wrong area but I will answer your question. Kenwood amps have never been very strong no matter what the claim. You will get much more SPL out of the 2 12's rather than the one 15 due to the efficiantciey of the 12's compared to the 15. I believe the 12's will be more efficiant than a 15 when paired together, plus you will have more moving mass. Thus creating higher spl. Also, it will be a cleaner bass. The larger the speaker is, the harder it is to control. In addition to that. I think your amp would be much better suited for the 2 12's in a dual voice coil running 2 oms stereo Than running a mono load with the one 15.
