So my problem is as follows: I have a JVC RX-5020V receiver and a set of Cerwin Vega 5.1 speakers that have an AVS Sub8 as the sub woofer. Whenever bass signal is fed to the sub it emits a very loud hum. At first I thought it was a faulty ground or a ground loop so I trouble shot that pretty much out of the water. Put the entire system on a new circuit, continued. Detatched all peripherals except sub and reciever then ran sound through my iPod, hum continued. Basically I want to know if anyone thinks that it is either the sub or the receiver. Also, this problem didn't just appear at once, it sort of developed slowly. A while back I got the hum, so I just changed the outlet the sub was in and it worked for a while. If anyone has any insight to what this problem is or any suggestions to help me out before I take anything out to get repaired please send it my way. Thanks.
