I just received a new(old stereo) technics su-g91 It came with a couple of speakers bookshelf 30 watt 8 ohms. when I turned it up a bit one speaker quit working I removed the back plug where the wires go and it was smoking. I hooked up another speaker I had and then the same thing happened to the other speaker. I was under the assumption that these speakers where the originals. I scince found out that this amp puts out 135 watts per channel, was this to much for these speakers?? I have found some pioneer bookshelf speakersrated at 60 watts 8 ohm will these work with this amp? I'm scared to hook up a new set of speakers thinking that they will also go up in smoke. Is there a way to run a fuse in the speaker wire to prevent this sort of thing from happinning?? Also I found some cerin vegas on Ebay bookshelf units rated at 125 watts for 70.00. I want to go with small speakers because I use this at work on my toolbox
