Rich,

I'll second Shawn's recommendation: You would be very hard pressed to find any receives that offer the quality of sound and build which is offered by Pioneer's lineup. The Elites have an excellent reputation, I have one running behind me at the moment, and another in the house. Must have owned three or four in my life, moving on to other equipment out of curiosity, not because they let me down in any way.

I see you are a fellow Canuck, check out their www site:

If you want a jaw-dropping deal, hunt around for any of their older kit: 32171715_32252711%2C00.html,http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/pna/older/models/0, ,32171715_32252711,00.html as they often go cheap as fellows move to separates.

I've never heard Outlaw but I have heard Pioneer Elite, Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, and Onkyo and I think NAD sounds better than all of them.

I think the T753 retails for $1000 but now they have a T754 and it should be similiar in price.

I don't think any of those other brands can hold a candle to NAD in terms of amp and sound quality.
