I only got HDMI and DVI-D as output on my television, and only Optical input on my surround reciever.
Is there any way of getting HDMI or DVI-D to optical? Seem unpossible, but worth asking :-)

Stig,

I think you mean HDMI and DVI-D as input to the TV?

Optical is an audio-only input typically - no video. HDMI is both audio and video but copper only. DVI-D is video-only (and also copper only).

So no, no way to do what you may want to do as far as I know.

Then again, what people usually want to do is take their DVD player with HDMI output and plug it directly into the TV for the picture side of things. Then they take either an optical or a coax digital cable and connect it between the DVD player and the receiver.

Regards,
Frank.
