I'm putting together a system because my old one was destroyed in a fire. I don't know anything about cables, just that cables are better than the jacks that are included w/amps, tuners, CD players, etc. Could someone please explain about cables why and who makes good ones or tell me where I can go to learn? thanks a lot. canyon

Cables are a minefield. There are all sorts of constructions and configurations. Also, different parts of the world are represented by different cable manufacturers simply because of the logistics of transportation. Also, different cable brands work better with certain brands of electronics than others. Therefore it's best to see what your local dealers recommend with your equipment for the best match.
