How can i get my 4 ohm subs to hook up to my 6 ohm house amp?

I bought 2 4 ohm subs and i have a 6 ohm house amp, a friend told me that too many ohms to subs will fry them is this tru and if it is how do i make them work??????

Wire em for an 8 ohm load, Or buy home Subs.

8 ohm wont blow the subs, but you will lose power if you do that. Hooking them up on the 6ohm amp will send too much current through the subs and they may fry either your subs or the amp.
