Hello , I am tring to decide which sub would suit my listening enviroment best . It would be used with either the Athena B1.2 or the Ascend cbm-170se speakers . I say would be because I have not yet made a final decision on the speakers and am also considering purchasing the Emma's without the sub .The sub would be installed in the corner of a 5500 sq foot workshop , and the floor is concrete . I realize that this is not the best listening enviroment , but I spend a good portion of my life there and want something that sounds good . My listening tastes are fairly eclectic , ranging from acoustic guitar to heavy alternative/synth rock like nin or tool .

For such a large space, I'd consider doing stereo subs...maybe a pair of the Acoustech H100s. They go for around $200 each I think. Or a pair of the Athena AS-P6000s.

Otherwise for $400 the Hsu STF-2 is a good choice, $350 shipped b-stock, but not sure if it could handle such a huge space by itself.
